Initially rooms were prepared through the Adopt-A-Room program as a home for a family participating in the Joshua Station transformational housing program. When a family vacates their home, the room(s) is in need of a little "sprucing up"!

When a family vacates:

1. The DDC volunteers will go in and make any necessary repairs.
2. Housekeeping will give the room a thorough cleaning.
3. We will check out the room and make a Spruce-List.
4. YOU (and your group of family, friends, co-workers, etc.) agree to Spruce-A-Room.
5. Come to Joshua Station, check out your room, pick up your Spruce-List and go shopping!
6. You are welcome to paint and add additional decorative touches!
7. The items you purchase and spruce the room with are eligible for an In-Kind tax deduction. Estimated expense: $500.00 per room.
   

The Spruce-List may include some or all of the following items:

Blankets	Drinking glasses
Sheets	Dinnerware set
Pillows	Blinds/window covering
Comforter set	Lamps & lightbulbs
Mattress pad	Vacuum
Towels	Storage Unit
Shower curtin	Calendar
Bath accessories (rug, seat cover, wastebasket, etc.)	Decorative items (pictures, mirror, vases, pillows, throw covers, etc.)
